A private beach unspoiled by footprints, a spring-fed waterfall cascading the rocky cliffside, azure and turquoise waters undulating in and out of the protected bay, splashes of water crashing through sea caves, trees, palms and ice plant softening the scene...truly, is there a more perfect place? For me, this is probably my most favorite spot on Earth. Julia Pfieffer Burns State Park is situated along the Big Sur coastline on California's Highway 1. My husband and I first discovered this piece of paradise on our honeymoon, and it remains the most idyllic location.
